Phase 3
the link above were created from digital photographs of painting from dig-paint phase 2 that were
cut & rearranged to create a totem. i used a system/formula/sequencial abstraction to cut & rotate
the pieces.

the backgrounds were created from the sources files that the paintings were founded upon.

on the simple vertical composition composed of horz strips >>> the idea is to have the underside
painted or ? & mount each strip in a manner that will have them hang like window blinds partially
open to add a 3d quality + reveal underbelly. might use a pixel pattern for underside?
the black arm things are the edges/borders cut off
of the paintings & reassembled. did a systematic
rotation (1/4th ) on each painting & then swapped
a piece out with the image below. background is a
digital manipulation based on the source material
with a color gradient overlay & variations thereof.
Totem explorations
the images to the right are digital explorations
based on the idea that i would cut the
sequential abstraction in to vertical strips.
< < <    this is a reworked image for the intent of printing, gel
coat & paper removal. the goal being transparency. to achieve
this a range of grayscale, grain & texture was added to break up
dark areas that retained opacity after paper removal. this is an
edit based on phase 3 efforts. iso i guess it is part of phase 4?
